Doesn’t require batteries to work. It will take a small amount of power from the battery that is being tested. The LCD display is easy to read and it appears to be accurate enough. For some reason the AAA batteries are difficult to insert and get a good contact. It takes some wiggling to get them to make a good contact. General speaking this battery tester is excellent for the price.
